My Grandmother was quite the artist, I am told, though I have never seen any of her paintings (she died many years before I was born, sadly).
What I have seen are a few of her retouched photographs. Back in the teens and 1920’s this was quite the ‘hobby’, taking black and white photographs and painting directly on them with semi-transparent paint / ink created especially for the process.
As a long time fan of old photographs, especially black and whites from at least 100 years ago I thought I might see what I could accomplish in the digital age.
